50 shades of green
Now, hold your horses ladies and gents! Before you get excited, this is not THAT kind of article :)
Well, it’s been a fascinating week to say the least! As some of you may know (through the online forums) daughter number 2 ‘RB’ was diagnosed officially with enlarged adenoids last year. She’d had trouble breathing through her nose for about 18 months and no amount of homeopathy, aromatherapy or herbal teas would shift it permanently. Those blasted ear infections, sore throats and painful episodes of tonsillitis just kept coming back. Now some people may say that kids are simply prone to these childhood ailments and what’s the problem if she breathes through her mouth? Well, the complications from this could actually be very hazardous to your health, including problems such as:
Constant nasal congestion or sinusitis
Long face syndrome
It had literally come to the point of where that tiny little nose on her face was not functioning at all and you could visibly see her nostrils were completely blocked. I felt I had no choice but to consider a link to the only vaccination she had ever had; DTaP (Diptheris, Tenanus, Whooping cough).
Due to having an older child with autism, we had been advised to delay our other children’s vaccinations until they were at least 2 years old. Daughter number 2 reacted immediately to the DTaP vaccine by starting to fall over, stumble and stopped talking within a day of her jab. She was 2.5 years old at the time and instantly given 5 doses of Thuja 30c and recovered within a few days (phew, lucky call!) Needless to say, our third daughter was not vaccinated at all!
This half-term just gone, I decided to bite the bullet and ‘detox’ the vaccination that I felt had caused the harm, deciding to use the same protocol on my eldest at the same time. The protocol involved using the very same vaccination that had caused the damage, in minute homeopathic dosage to trigger an immune response and encourage the body to rid itself of any residing toxins that may be causing harm to the system.
Days 1-2 were pretty uneventful. Days 3-7 and a flood of green mucus erupted from my children’s noses. Now bearing in mind that daughter number 2 could not even blow her nose due to it being so blocked, seeing this level of gook coming out was actually quite exciting! Checking her nose, her nostrils had visibly opened up and she was experiencing no pain at all when she blew her nose to get rid of the mucus (a problem she had for some time beforehand). The strangest thing was that although it is common to get a cold when conducting this type of homeopathic detox, my children had no accompanying cough or cold symptoms at all! They literally only had lots of green mucus coming out of their noses at exactly the same time.
Now what is the relevance of this I hear you ask! Well first and foremost, some of the side effects of the DTaP vaccination are

So in theory, a ‘detox’ of the vaccination should help reverse some of these side effects. Secondly, the importance of the mucus is that it forms a protective barrier for our bodies and in particular for our mouth, nose, sinuses, throat, lungs and gastrointestinal tract. Over production of this mucus is simply your body’s immune system sending white blood cells to an area deemed to be under attack. These cells (called neutrophils) are green in colour and so the green mucus we often associate with heavy colds and chest infections, is actually just the colour of an enzyme within these larger number of white blood cells that have grouped together to fight a foreign invader. Therefore, green mucus is a sign that your immune system is working over-time and in this particular incidence, a homeopathic version of the original vaccination caused my children’s bodies to react in this way. Interesting eh?
Well, we are now at day 10 and to say that daughter number 2’s mood has improved since this incident is an understatement! Her sleep has greatly improved and I am now having to teach her how to get out of the habit of breathing through her mouth, not a bad result at all!
